How To Brush Your Teeth Properly
While many Gresham locals isolate at home, it is more important than ever to make sure you are taking care of your teeth properly. Are you sure you’re brushing your teeth the right way? Here are some basic reminders for Gresham families.
Twice A Day, For Two Minutes
Are you taking your time brushing, or rushing through it? Are you skipping brushing in the morning or at night? Make sure you are giving yourself a full two minutes to brush your teeth and brushing twice daily every day.
Use The Right Stuff
It is best to use a fluoride toothpaste and a soft-bristled toothbrush.
Tooth-Brushing Technique
The act of brushing your teeth isn’t enough. You must be doing it the right way. Angle your bristles slightly towards where your teeth meet your gums. Be gentle. Hard brushing can damage your teeth and gums. Use a circular, back-and-forth motion. Be sure to brush all surfaces of your teeth.
Keep Your Toothbrush Clean
You should always rinse your toothbrush with water after brushing. Allow your toothbrush to air-dry from an upright position. Keep toothbrushes separated to avoid cross-contamination.
Replace Your Toothbrush Regularly
Toothbrushes should be replaced once every three months. If you notice the bristles on your toothbrush are frayed, replace it sooner.
