If you brush one another’s teeth at the same time, you can teach them to mirror your actions, thus teaching them better brushing practices.

You could also try making up a game to encourage both brushing and flossing. For example, make a game of finding places your child might have missed by using a flashlight to find “plaque bugs.” This could excite your kid to go back over any areas that need re-brushing.

This will encourage them to practice brushing teeth on their doll and make it easier when it comes time to brush their own teeth.
